Vappu!

Vappupiknik on yksi vuoden kohokohdista. Se on kevään juhlaa ja ystävien. Silloin kymmenet kaverit kerääntyvät Turun Vartiovuorenmäelle herkuttelemaan ja viettämään upeaa kevätpäivää hyvässä seurassa. Me Annun kanssa yleensä vietämme vappuaaton keittiössä, sillä vappupäivän piknik on koko juhlan juju. Seurueemme on jopa kruunattu Vartiovuorenmäen parhaaksi piknikiksi kahdesti, valitettavasti tänä vuonna tuomaristo ei koskaan edes vieraillut vilteillämme. Niinpä julistimme itse itsemme voittajiksi ja juhlimme kuplivalla! Poks! Tässä ihanan Paun nappaamia vapputunnelmia, tänä vuonna teemamme oli meri. Kenties ensi vuonna näemme mäellä?

One of the highlights of my year is always May Day (Finnish Labour day). It's a celebration of spring and good friends. It's when all our friends gather at Turku's Vartiovuorenmäki to eat and drink and spend the lovely spring day in great company. On April 30th Annu and I usually spend the evening in the kitchen because as far as we're concerned, the May 1st picnic is the whole point of the celebration. Actually, our party has won Best Picnic twice! Unfortunately this year the jury never even visited our blanket. But we didn't let that bother us, instead we declared ourself winners and popped the sparkling wine! So here are some pictures of our day taken by the lovely Pau.
